It’s different here.

Sundays • 10a @ Woods Charter School

We’re The Local (unapologetically inclusive, Jesus-centered) Church.

Both things can be true. Following in the way of Jesus, who welcomed the stranger, shared meals with the marginalized, disrupted the status quo, and spoke truth to power, The Local Church is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion, anti-racism, and care for creation. We’re here to help you take your next step on the way of Jesus for the healing of God’s world. Start here.

We gather at Woods Charter School in Chapel Hill every Sunday at 10 a.m.—and you’re invited. Our worship is real, relevant, and engaging, grounded in community and coneection. We know visiting a church for the first time can feel intimidating, but rest assured: you won’t be singled out or put on the spot. Just come as you are. Want to know what to expect? Our worship is affirming, anchoring, and empowering.

The Local Church exists wherever you are.

Church is more than a place; it’s a movement. At The Local Church, we partner with agencies and nonprofits both near and far to support the good work already underway. And when we see a gap, we step in to help fill it. Jesus came to bring healing and liberation. That’s our mission, too.

Where you go, we go.

From Sunday sermons to conversations with community leaders, our podcast is packed with meaningful, relevant content to inspire you—wfhether you’re commuting, waiting in the carpool line, tackling your to-do list, or just catching a quiet moment in between.

Jesus wouldn’t spam you. We won’t either. But we’d love to stay in touch. 💌
