Join Us for Outdoor Worship this Sunday!

We are so excited to wrap up our sermon series, The Call of the Wild: A Journey of Rewilding, this Sunday with a special outdoor worship service at Woods Charter School. This is going to be a unique and inspiring event that you won't want to miss!

Our gathering space will be shaded and surrounded by trees, making it ideal for connecting with the natural world and listening for the call of the Wild. In addition, the service will be unplugged (except for amplification), allowing us to join with all of creation in declaring glory and praise.

What You Should Know

We understand that there may be some concerns regarding the outdoor setting, especially given the weather this past week. Here are the steps we’re taking:

  • Weather Considerations: The worship space is wonderfully shaded; however, if our team determines on Sunday morning that it's too hot or if it's raining, we will move the service inside with a modified setup. We are committed to ensuring that everyone remains as comfortable and safe as possible.

  • Duration: We have planned a simplified liturgy to keep the service to a maximum of one hour. Our goal is to ensure we can worship together without being outside too long in the heat.

  • Water: We also plan to have plenty of water available to ensure everyone stays cool and well hydrated.

Accessibility Information

To ensure that everyone can participate, there’s a gentle sloping ramp leading to the worship space. For those with mobility concerns, there’s a sturdy rail for support, and we will have extra folks available to assist you if needed.

What to Bring

To make sure you are comfortable during the service, we recommend bringing the following items:

  • A bag chair or blanket for seating.

  • Bug spray to keep the bugs at bay.

  • Extra chairs, if you have them, to ensure everyone has a place to sit.

Local Kids and Families

Children will have their own time of spiritual formation on or near the playground at Woods Charter School. This environment is perfect for them to engage with the message in a way that is meaningful and fun.

Why You Should Attend

This outdoor worship experience is a special way to connect more deeply with the themes we've explored in our series, The Call of the Wild: A Journey of Rewilding. As we wrap up this journey, worshipping amidst the trees and the open sky will serve as a powerful concluding act of rewilding. We believe that worshipping in the great outdoors will deepen our connection to God, to one another, and to the world around us.

👉 If you cannot attend, we’re planning to share an at-home liturgy on Sunday so that you can experience outdoor worship in your own way.

We can't wait to see you! If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to make sure you have all the details you need for a comfortable and enriching experience. See you at Woods Charter School at 10 a.m. this Sunday!
