A Summer Adventure for Leah

Hello, TLC family!

I am very excited to announce that I have accepted an opportunity to serve in ministry this summer in Pretoria, South Africa!

As a Duke Divinity student, I have to complete two field education internships to graduate. My first internship has been with you all at The Local Church… and I have extended it as long as the Field Education office will let me! My time in South Africa will count as my second Field Education internship. Then, I plan to be back with you all in the fall!

My last Sunday this semester will be Sunday, May 14th (Mother’s Day), before I return in August. Brent and I are working with some of our wonderful musicians and community partners to cover music responsibility while I am away.

In South Africa, I will be leading worship, preaching, teaching, and serving with several of the non-profit missions organizations the church operates. I cannot wait to come back and share stories, pictures, and songs with you all!
