TLCxYTH November Update

Each month, Rajeev sends an update to youth families with news, updates, and recaps. Here’s his update for November.

Well, since my last recap email, so many things have happened. Taylor Swift started her international leg of the Eras tour, people discovered the NFL because of the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift romance, I got married, Taylor Swift was officially announced as a billionaire.

Okay...we all know Taylor Swift news is inescapable, but we're here! In TLCYTH we've been going through a series called "It's Just A Lot" which allowed students to learn that they are not alone in the stresses and worries of life. Let's face it, being a middle schooler is hard. Being a high schooler is hard. BEING AN ADULT is HARD. In this series we looked at how stress, worry, and anxiety are a normal part of life. We didn't ignore the hard part about being human. In the midst of these things though, we can remember that God is for us, with us, and always beside us through it. We can also rely on friends and others to be used by God to walk with us through these things.

One of the things I noticed this past Sunday was the ways in which we are finally becoming comfortable with one another. I noticed the students interacting and engaging with the topic at hand in ways that I hadn't seen before. The less time between me asking a question and a student answering the question has gotten smaller! 5 seconds feels like eternity when you have 10 middle schoolers staring at you. We're down to about 3! God is good and we are following God's guidance as we continue to grow this ministry at TLC.

As we prepare for this next season of YTH and the church, would you pray that students feel comfortable in who they are as beloved individuals made in the Image of God? Would you pray that they feel loved and seen and know that the things of the world that weigh them down are not burdens they need to carry alone?

Grateful for you all!

- Rajeev
