ICYMI: Spoiler Alert 3 // “Recovery of Sight to the Blind” (Luke 16)

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

Luke 16:19–31

🎯 Reflection

In the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, the rich man's inability to truly see Lazarus reflects how our own vision can become obscured. But by following Jesus’s example of seeing and valuing others, starting with learning their names, we can begin to see the world and one another as God sees. Doing so will make our own lives more complete.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“We cannot see God's vision in theory. We can't see it in the abstract. It's only made real when it’s incarnate—when it has flesh and bone and body and breath. This is how our sight is restored. It starts with a name.” — Brent Levy

🙏 Prayer

God who sees, as you invite us into a world of belonging and justice, inspire us to take the first step in learning someone's name and story, so that we may grow in understanding, compassion, and a clearer vision of your kingdom; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

➡️ Next Step

This week, learn a new name. Wherever you find yourself—at a coffee shop or conference, in line at the grocery store, the sideline of a soccer field, or walking by someone in need—take time to learn someone's name. Let it be the gateway to their story. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you eyes to truly see the people God has put right in front of you.
