ICYMI: Trinity Sunday // “Overwhelming the Overwhelm” (Isaiah 6)

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

Isaiah 6:1–8

🎯 Reflection

Just as Isaiah's unclean lips were purified by the seraph’s coal, we too can experience transformation when we are given a new song and allow God's truth to counter the lies and unproductive thoughts that overwhelm us. Embracing God's overwhelming love and grace empowers us to live with greater confidence and purpose.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“Because if words are a mirror to the heart, then God is giving a new truth in the song of the seraphs—a truth that really is truth, that counters and overwhelms the words falling from unclean lips—words that can change a heart…” — Brent Levy

🙏 Prayer

O God, Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, who overwhelms us with your holiness and grace, cleanse us from the lies that cling to our lips and the fears that grip our hearts. Empower us to embrace your transformative love, so that we may live with greater wholeness, joy, and purpose, giving glory to you, three-in-one and one-in-three, now and always. Amen.

➡️ Next Step

This week, take time to listen to the Spirit by choosing a Bible verse or affirmation to repeat. Write it down, use it as your phone’s lock screen, or set reminders to keep it in mind when you need it most. Repeat it to yourself when you need it to let God’s truth overwhelm your overwhelm.
