ICYMI: The Call of the Wild // “Rewilding God”

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

Exodus 3:1–15

🎯 Reflection

Just as Moses encountered God in the wilderness through a burning bush, we too can experience the divine presence in unexpected places and surprising ways. By opening our hearts to God's wildness and embracing the sacredness of all creation, we can find a more expansive, life-giving faith that empowers us to follow Jesus with renewed passion and purpose.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“Maybe God telling Moses to take off his shoes is a way of telling Moses that he's home here. Here in this world. Here on this land. Maybe it's an invitation to return home to who he was made to be, which is what the process of rewilding is all about, after all.” — Brent Levy

🙏 Prayer

Wild and untamed God, who surprises us by showing up in unexpected places, help me to take off my shoes and open my eyes to your holy presence all around me, so that I may be set free to follow the way of Jesus with renewed energy and expansive faith. In the name of the One through whom all things have come into being and in whom all things hold together. Amen.

➡️ Next Step

This week, take up to fifteen minutes a few times and go barefoot, feeling the ground beneath you, and connecting with the Spirit of our wild God. Reflect on the expansiveness of God in creation, listen to the world around you, and pray. God is all around you, and where God is, there is holy ground.
