ICYMI: Take Heart // “A Heart for Humility”

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

Philippians 2:1–18

🎯 Reflection

Humility isn't about thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less. When we live “close to the ground,” focusing on the needs around us, we find unexpected joy and purpose. This counter-cultural way of living follows the example of Jesus and opens us up to experiencing God's love in profound ways.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“Each time, beloved of God, that you put another's interest ahead of your own, each time you find yourself low to the ground, each time, with a humble heart, you empty yourself for the sake of another and love where you are, in a time that can feel so heavy, you are God's joy made complete.” — Brent Levy

🙏 Prayer

Loving God, source of all humility and grace, empty us of our selfish ambitions and fill us with your selfless love. May we, like Christ, pour ourselves out for others, so that your joy may be made complete in us and through us. We pray this in the name of Jesus, who modeled true humility. Amen.
