ICYMI: Take Heart // “A Heart for Trust”

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

Philippians 3:7–16

🎯 Reflection

The sacred art of becoming a “regular” in our relationship with the Divine invites us to trade transactional faith for transformational intimacy. This deep trust, born of relationship, fuels our hope for a world made new and propels us to embody that reality here and now.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“Faithful God, who meets us in the familiar and the unknown, cultivate in us hearts that trust deeply in your promise. May we become “regulars” in our life with you, so that like Paul, we can press on with hope and joy even in life’s darkest moments. We ask this in the name of the one who knows us fully and loves us completely. Amen.” — Frank Bruni

🙏 Prayer

Faithful God, who meets us in the familiar and the unknown, cultivate in us hearts that trust deeply in your promise. May we become “regulars” in our life with you, so that like Paul, we can press on with hope and joy even in life’s darkest moments. We ask this in the name of the one who knows us fully and loves us completely. Amen.

➡️ Next Step

A consistent relationship with God, much like being a regular at a favorite restaurant, allows us to cultivate a heart for trust. It doesn't have to take a lot of time; instead, it can be as simple—as one author put it—as “looking at God, looking at you, in love.” To this end, spend time with these questions this week: What's heavy on your heart? Where do you need to trust God? How is the Spirit inviting you to abide with God?
