ICYMI: Come Alive 2 // Alive to Self

If you missed Sunday's service or could use a refresher, here's a quick recap featuring sharables and takeaways from our gathering. Scroll to the bottom for the full sermon recording.

📖 Focal Scripture

John 14:15–21

🎯 Reflection

Sometimes the holiest thing we can do is stop pretending—stop pretending that injustice is okay, that exclusion is acceptable, that our silence doesn't matter. The Spirit within us, our inner authority, knows better, and when we listen, we become part of a legacy of sacred activists who changed the world by simply being brave enough to be themselves.

🗣️ Key Quotation

“The awareness of being a child of God tends to stabilize the ego and results in a new courage, fearlessness and power.” — Howard Thurman

🙏 Prayer

Living Christ, who walks alongside the disinherited and speaks through our holy discontent: grant us the courage to trust the authority you've planted within us, that we might transform our contemplation into action and our prayers into justice. Through the power of your indwelling Spirit, who never leaves us to walk alone.

💡 Journaling Prompts

  • What helps me feel calm enough to hear your inner voice? What gets in the way?

  • Think about the phrase "inner authority." What's one thing my heart has been trying to tell me lately?

  • What's one thing I wish I could change in my community? What small step could I take toward that change?

➡️ Next Step

This week, we’re continuing to build our Working Paper—a living document to help you find what makes you come alive. Last week, we worked to identify our core vision. This week, we’re practicing listening to our inner authority. Find your guide to this week's practice here.
